Welcome to Workforce Accelerator for Fusion Energy Development 2024, and a warm greeting to all attendees in Hampton, Virginia! On behalf of our organizing team, we extend an enthusiastic invitation to join us at the Hilton Hotel, Hampton, VA from May 29 – 30, 2024.
The fusion energy space is rapidly expanding with significant private sector investment, supporting a robust ecosystem of companies exploring different technological approaches. Our conference chairs, Carlos Paz-Soldan and Troy Carter, are curating a program that delves into the current and future fusion energy workforce challenges. This conference will explore new types of educational and research-based fusion energy training programs that can be developed at institutions spanning the range from trade schools and community colleges to research intensive universities. The conference will focus on bringing public and private stakeholders together to identify opportunities for partnership in fusion research and education with the goal of meeting the needs for a talented, diverse workforce.
